How buyers in Colombia ask
Buyers in Colombia write to an AI assistant the way they would ask a colleague, and the Spanish is Colombian: a car is a carro, an online shop is a página, food delivery is domicilios, and the monthly fee on a bank account is the cuota de manejo. A small business is a pyme. Cities are Bogotá, Medellín or Cali, not “a big city”.
Local institutions and payment habits show up unprompted. A question about invoicing software mentions the DIAN, Colombia’s tax authority, because electronic invoicing follows its rules. A question about paying online may assume PSE, the bank-transfer payment system, or a wallet such as Nequi. A question about car insurance asks for a seguro todo riesgo. A keyword list translated from English, or written in generic Spanish, misses this: it asks about “comisiones” where a Colombian asks about the cuota de manejo, and about “tiendas en línea” where a Colombian asks which página is safe. VozRadar discovers questions in es-CO from the start, so the prompts read like something a person in Colombia would actually type. A few examples from the evaluation set follow.
Example questions
Hand-picked examples from VozRadar’s evaluation set for this market, in the language buyers use. They show how questions are phrased here; they are not measured demand.

What shapes the answers
A web-grounded assistant does not answer from memory alone. It searches, reads a handful of pages and builds the answer from what those pages say. For a Colombian question, those pages tend to be Colombian: the national press and its business sections, such as El Tiempo and Semana; financial and technology publications such as La República, Portafolio and Enter.co; consumer-protection guidance; comparison articles; and marketplaces with their reviews.
The consequence is plain. When a buyer asks which payment gateway suits an online store in Colombia, the assistant leans on articles that compare gateways for Colombia, on guides about PSE, and on what merchants have written. A brand that appears in none of those places gives the assistant nothing to cite. It is not penalized; it is simply absent from the material the answer is built from, and a competitor that is present gets named instead. A good position in Google for a Spanish keyword does not carry over automatically. The list below shows the kind of sources VozRadar checks for Colombia: a hand-picked set used to evaluate the market, not a ranking of who is cited most.

Where VozRadar helps in Colombia
Colombia is out of beta and generally available: it passed VozRadar’s market readiness checks on two real AI answer engines, OpenAI web search and Perplexity. The checks confirm that answers come back in the market’s language, name the local benchmark brands a good answer should name, cite a meaningful share of sources local to the country, and rarely lean on sources from another Spanish-speaking country or Spain. The loop is the same as in Mexico, the reference market.
Discover. VozRadar finds the questions buyers in Colombia are likely to ask about your category, in Colombian Spanish, and you approve the ones that matter.
Measure. Approved prompts run weekly on named answer surfaces: OpenAI’s web-grounded API, Gemini with Google Search grounding, Perplexity’s web-search API, and Google AI Mode and AI Overviews captured from search results. Each answer is stored with its surface, model and location, and rates come with sample sizes rather than as a ranking.
Explain and fix. Gaps show which brands are named instead of yours and which Colombian sources cover them but not you; each becomes a content brief or a prompt for a coding agent. You review and ship it. VozRadar never publishes to your site.
Prove. The Experiment Ledger records a baseline, a ship date and an observation window, so a change in Colombian answers has a recorded before and after.
VozRadar is in prelaunch; the waitlist starts with a free one-off scan of your brand in Colombia.
