AI search visibility in Brazil

Buyers in Brazil ask AI assistants in Brazilian Portuguese, about nota fiscal, Pix, instalments and delivery in São Paulo. VozRadar measures which brands those answers name, and why.

Brazil is generally available: it passed VozRadar’s market readiness checks on real AI answer engines, for language, local brands and local sources.

How buyers in Brazil ask

Brazil is a Portuguese-speaking market inside a mostly Spanish-speaking region, and buyers there ask in Brazilian Portuguese: not European Portuguese, and certainly not Spanish. They ask for a banco digital sem tarifa, a loja virtual, delivery de comida, atendimento em sinistros. Even the shape of a question is local: “Qual o melhor…”, with the verb dropped. Cities are São Paulo or Belo Horizonte, not “a big city”.

The questions also carry Brazil’s own rules. Asking for a system to issue nota fiscal eletrônica for a small business means the answer has to know the NF-e for goods and the NFS-e for services, and regimes such as MEI and Simples Nacional. Asking about a payment platform for a loja virtual happens in a market where Pix, boleto and parcelamento in instalments are the everyday options, and the answer is judged by them. A model asked in translated English, or in generic Portuguese, retrieves different sources and names different brands. VozRadar discovers questions in pt-BR from the start, so the prompts read like something a person in Brazil would actually type. A few examples from the evaluation set follow.

Example questions

Hand-picked examples from VozRadar’s evaluation set for this market, in the language buyers use. They show how questions are phrased here; they are not measured demand.

What shapes the answers

Web-grounded assistants answer from what they retrieve, and in Brazil that means Brazilian sources. The big portals, Globo and UOL, and the business press, Exame, InfoMoney and Estadão, write about banks, insurers and retailers. Technology sites such as TecMundo and Canaltech review phones, stores and apps for a Brazilian reader. Reclame Aqui, the consumer-complaints site, publishes a public reputation score that shoppers check before buying, and the Procon consumer offices publish complaint rankings.

A brand that wants to appear in these answers has to exist in that ecosystem: covered by the Brazilian press, reviewed on Brazilian technology sites, and present on Reclame Aqui with a reputation worth showing. A brand with a strong English site and a thin Portuguese one gives the model little to retrieve when a buyer asks in pt-BR, so the answer names the competitors that Brazilian sources describe. Absence from those sources is not a penalty; it is the absence of a reason to be included. The list below shows the kind of sources VozRadar checks for Brazil: a hand-picked set used to evaluate the market, not a ranking of who is cited most.

Where VozRadar helps in Brazil

Brazil is out of beta and generally available: it passed VozRadar’s market readiness checks on two real AI answer engines, OpenAI web search and Perplexity. The checks confirm that answers come back in the market’s language, name the local benchmark brands a good answer should name, cite a meaningful share of sources local to the country, and rarely lean on sources from another Portuguese-speaking country or Portugal. The loop is the same as in Mexico, the reference market.

Discover. VozRadar finds the questions buyers in Brazil are likely to ask about your category, in Brazilian Portuguese, and you approve the ones that matter.

Measure. Approved prompts run weekly on named answer surfaces: OpenAI’s web-grounded API, Gemini with Google Search grounding, Perplexity’s web-search API, and Google AI Mode and AI Overviews captured from search results. Each answer is stored with its surface, model and location, and rates come with sample sizes rather than as a ranking.

Explain and fix. Gaps show which brands are named instead of yours and which Brazilian sources cover them but not you; each becomes a content brief or a prompt for a coding agent. You review and ship it. VozRadar never publishes to your site.

Prove. The Experiment Ledger records a baseline, a ship date and an observation window, so a change in Brazilian answers has a recorded before and after.

VozRadar is in prelaunch; the waitlist starts with a free one-off scan of your brand in Brazil.
